Brighton born and raised singer songwriter, David Soanes, began playing guitar in early 1997 and has always favoured the rawness of the acoustic guitar, for his style of singing and song writing. Although he has only been playing and writing for a relatively short time, David has grown in strength in his style of playing and continues to evolve as a strong songwriter, both in melody and lyrically.

Among David's influences are Van Morrison, Ricky Ross, David Gray and Damien Rice, to name a few. In late 1999, David first entered the studio and began recording his debut studio album, 'The Long Journey From Boy To Man' at The Loophole Studios in Brighton, which was released in early 2000. Completely self penned and with David playing all the instruments on the album, he went on to play several promotional sets in Borders Music Café, Brighton and at other venues across Sussex.

In March of this year, David heads back into the studio to begin recording his second studio album, 'My Saviour' which is due for release in September. For this album, David is collaborating with a varied list of musicians from across Sussex, including his brother Rob on drums, violinist Jules Bell (formerly of folk band 'Legacy') and Mat Baker, accomplished guitarist from Brighton, currently based in Spain.
